One of today’s greatest miniaturists and portrait painters, Elizabeth Meek is the current President of the Royal Miniature Society and a past President of the Society of Women Artists.
Inspired from a child by the great masters, she has developed a consummate skill in portraiture over a period of 40 years. She turned to miniatures in the 1980s and for the past twenty years has created works described as strong, delicate or jewel-like, at range of scales from classic miniatures upwards.
Gregarious and very social, she takes great joy in getting to know her sitters – admitting that art can be a solitary profession. Her style is sympathetic but stunningly realistic, and her passion for people and faces means that when not working on commissions she constantly paints faces and characters which inspire her. Her commissions have ranged from private individuals to royalty. |
